Themes Beta testers wanted!

You already know we have a birthday this month, we even gave you giveaways. But every birthday is a chance to look back and to ask ourselves how could we be better, how could we improve our themes for your precious BlackBerries?

And here is the part where YOU come in dear readers. We would love to improve our quality themes, but that can only be done with your help. If you would like to apply as a Beta tester for Hedone Design themes comment bellow and tell us:

Plazmic Content Developers Kit: And its problems and solution

Plazmic Content Developers Kit is fairly most known to, obviously, developers. Especially to those who are developing awesome quality themes like Hedone Design. Although it’s a great piece of software we can’t get by its buginess and poor support.

It’s hard to develop new themes for your favourite BlackBerry with OS 5.0, because of Plazmic lack of support and with recent official release of OS 5.0 for BlackBerry Storm 9530, things get complicated.

We all know that Storm uses accelometer for landscape mode and here comes the problem. If you place your Storm in landscape mode, wallpaper doesn’t change to “landscape wallpaper” as it should (there is a fix though). This is n0t a designers fault but Plazmic’s.

Of course users are complaining about that. Not just users, designers too! We can’t design and sell our themes if they are not functioning under OS 5.0. I bet Plazmic and RIM are aware of this problem and I hope they are planing to release some really major update for Plazmic…

Attention Tour owners: Themes for 9630 NOT available yet

So, if you just bought a Tour – congratulations!

In case you came here to get a nice theme for your new BB, we have some bad news. Unfortunately, The software developers at RIM who are responsible for the theme software (Plazmic) haven’t yet released an update whitch would allow the creation of themes for the Tour. In the past, the update usually came 2 to 6 months after the phone model was available.

Since the Tour has the same screen resolution as the 8900 Curve, maybe this time it won’t take this long. We hope that this update will be available soon, so we can start creating themes for you too.
