Every time we publish a new theme we get a large number of your emails with positive comments, questions what we are prepare for the future, and occasionally we receive a bug report or two.

This time we are primarily to satisfy those of you who ask us what to expect in the coming week, month … But first we would like to ask you to go to Mobihands Web store (it will open in new window) and rate themes that you have from HedoneDesign. It would mean a lot to us!

Now back to the subject! Two new themes are in preparation! We want to publish them in this month, but it is sometimes difficult to determine the exact date, because of the demands for high quality graphics and testing.

We will show only two fragments of the upcoming themes.

The first is called “HedoneDesign Love & Passion”. the name says it all! We have received many questions on how to buy a theme for someone else as a gift or a gentle attention.

This theme will be ready for all models of BlackBerry Smartphones from 8100 to 9700 so you can get it for your loved one!

As always, you can expect this theme to be wallpaper friendly and includes user customizable icons. You can use comments to let us know what you think of it…

Another theme that is emerging is called “HedoneDesign Explicit”.

It is the first in a series of Explicit themes. Modern but simple, quick and sophisticated in designu. User friendly and of course … useful!

The BlackBerry Tour 9650 Teaser

Well according to CrackBerry.com yesterday Adam Zeis posted this teaser update that BlackBerry decided to don us with.  ”The BlackBerry Tour 9650 is coming.  Check back soon for official news!”  We are still in the first quarter of 2010 so Research In Motion hasn’t let us down just yet.  They are keeping true to their word of the BlackBerry Tour 9650 possibly launching in the beginning of  the year.  We will just have to see when they actually decide to give us an official release date.  Check back with us at HedoneDesign.com for more on the Tour 9650 news as it breaks.

First BetaTesters are selected!

Since we are just preparing two new themes we started selecting beta testers from all users who commented on “Themes Beta testers wanted!” article.

BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 expected to launch Oct 7th. Really?

The folks over at CrackBerry got some inside information that BlackBerry Messenger 5.0 will be releasing on October 7th.  Not sure how accurate the information is but we will all hope that it is true.

Some features BBM 5.0 will have:

• Enhanced SMS -Allows for a conversational chat-like user experience with a single contact list for the most personal mobile-to-mobile communications
  • Note: BlackBerry® Device Software 5.0 and later is required for the SMS functionality.
• Avatars - Users can choose a picture from the BlackBerry Smartphone gallery and save it as their personal avatar, which will be seen by their contacts. They can also view other avatars in the contact list and zoom in on the avatars of contacts participating in a conversation by selecting “View participants.”
• Large Media File Transfer - Users can send/receive large file transfers up to 6 megabytes for pictures, files and audio.
  • Note: BlackBerry Device Software 5.0 is required to receive large media files.
• Enhanced Group Functionality - Allows for the ability to update, share & communicate with a subset community.
• Bar-code Identity - A user can add a contact to the BlackBerry Messenger contact list by displaying a 2-dimensional bar code that invitees can capture with their device cameras.
• Reliable Contact Backup and Restore - Contacts are backed-up on a server and do not require the need for BlackBerry® Desktop Manager.

So how do we expect this update to come to us?  Will we be prompted wirelessly to download it OTA (over the air)?  Will there be desktop download available?  How about OS 5.0 compatibility?  We don’t know yet but if Wednesday is the day, we’re going to have to wait til then to find out.
