BlackBerry Storm 2 Review – By Kevin at CrackBerry

BlackBerry-Storm2-Review
Featuring WiFi, more memory and an improved SurePress technology, Research in Motion’s second-generation BlackBerry Storm is ready for primetime and wants to be touched!

Its been a while now since this review was published, but till this morning I didn’t really have time to check it out. As Kevin said: “It’s that time again! Grab a cup of coffee or your favorite energy drink, kick back and enjoy yet another CrackBerry.com pre-release BlackBerry Smartphone review. This time around we’re looking at an officially-received BlackBerry Storm2. Has RIM taken the Storm to the next level with the Storm 2, or are we looking at a minor update? Should owners of the original BlackBerry Storm upgrade?”

And that is how I did it! I took a cup of coffee, red bull and start with his review!

Well… CHECK IT OUT your self!

PS: don’t forget to thank Kevin for this awesome review!

Charge your BlackBerry wirelessly with PowerMat

October 17, 2009 by Chetan Sharma

powermatFolks – We’ve all heard of the technology existing, but never actually took the time to look into it.  I came across and interesting article and a so called gadget should I say, called PowerMat and decided to share it with you for those who haven’t had a glimpse on it just yet.

The PowerMat is interesting gadget that goes well with BlackBerry and other devices as well such as digital cameras or even other cellular phones. So how does it charge wirelessly on the PowerMat? It’s not like you think it is. Before you read on and get slightly disappointed, be aware that you must clip a “mat” to the back of the BlackBerry or other chargeable device before having it sit on the PowerMat. The mat sticks right on the back of the BlackBerry, right over the battery door. After doing so, you can throw it right on the PowerMat, allowing the mat on the battery door to make contact. It’s not going to be a loose connection either between the PowerMat and your BlackBerry as it is a magnetic device (which most of you figured out by now) so it will firmly sit without sliding all over the place.

Glide over to PowerMat to get a the real demo and how it works.

Let us know if anyone of you buys one and how does it feel?

Enjoy!

Radio Saver – Extend your BlackBerry Battery Life

August 14, 2009 by Chetan Sharma

I came across this awesome app for BlackBerry (OS 4.3 and above). Its an awesome and must have app for all the BlackBerry owners.

Greatly extend your battery life with Radio Saver! Do you live, work, or play in an area with bad service? Ever see how quickly having bad service can kill your battery? Let Radio Saver intelligently manage your radio for you saving battery in the process.

radiosaver

The radio takes up the most battery by far on all Blackberries, and turning it off will drastically increase battery life. Radio Saver works by monitoring your signal level, and turning off the radio when the signal gets too low. It then intelligently checks periodically if signal has returned and leaves the radio on when it does, meaning you don’t miss your calls or emails.

Radio Saver is fully customizable to your needs, and includes two presents for common situations.

Unlike other similar products, Radio Saver is the only app to intelligently monitor your service and automatically handle turning your radio off and on for you–no need for preset timers which cause you to miss calls and emails even when you are in areas of full service!

NOTE: If you always have full service, Radio Saver will not help your battery life, as it will never be able to turn your radio off to save power. The longer the radio is off, the greater the power savings, so those in poor coverage areas will experience the greatest gain in battery life.

Features:

  • Intelligently monitors signal and turns radio off in areas of poor coverage to save battery
  • Fully customizable–every setting can be user configured to perfectly match your needs
  • Two preset settings for common situations
  • Works on OS 4.3 and up!
  • Incredibly small memory footprint!
