Themes Beta testers wanted!

You already know we have a birthday this month, we even gave you giveaways. But every birthday is a chance to look back and to ask ourselves how could we be better, how could we improve our themes for your precious BlackBerries?

And here is the part where YOU come in dear readers. We would love to improve our quality themes, but that can only be done with your help. If you would like to apply as a Beta tester for Hedone Design themes comment bellow and tell us:

• how many of Hedone Design themes have you tested or bought already
• which model of BlackBerry do you own (more is better)
• which BlackBerry OS are you running on your BlackBerry

Plazmic Content Developers Kit: And its problems and solution

Plazmic Content Developers Kit is fairly most known to, obviously, developers. Especially to those who are developing awesome quality themes like Hedone Design. Although it’s a great piece of software we can’t get by its buginess and poor support.

It’s hard to develop new themes for your favourite BlackBerry with OS 5.0, because of Plazmic lack of support and with recent official release of OS 5.0 for BlackBerry Storm 9530, things get complicated.

We all know that Storm uses accelometer for landscape mode and here comes the problem. If you place your Storm in landscape mode, wallpaper doesn’t change to “landscape wallpaper” as it should (there is a fix though). This is n0t a designers fault but Plazmic’s.

Of course users are complaining about that. Not just users, designers too! We can’t design and sell our themes if they are not functioning under OS 5.0. I bet Plazmic and RIM are aware of this problem and I hope they are planing to release some really major update for Plazmic…

OFFICIAL OS v5.0.0.328 for BlackBerry Storm 9530

Earlier today, Verizon Wireless finally made the official version of OS v5.0 available on their website.

So, with a delay of one day, the rolling-out process of OS v5.0 finally started, the BlackBerry Storm 9530 being the first device to get RIM’s new software. Unfortunately for some, Verizon Wireless have their own BlackBerry-Software-Download site, so you might have some trouble downloading it from their servers.

Fortunately, though, there is a leak (or a website-rip, to be precise) available at MegaUpload, so  you can still grab your copy of the new OS.

And, just in case you’re interested, there is also this leak of the OS v5.0.0.327 floating around.

Which devices will support OS 5.0

BlackBerry OS 5.0 has been leaking for a while now. Although first releases weren’t so reliable, last one are more and more.

So I think it’s finally time to loook which devices are going to support OS 5.0 and if you have to change your precious BlackBerry for a newer one.

Devices that will support OS 5.0 are:

• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8330 smartphones
• BlackBerry® Curve™ 8350i smartphones

Storm2 9550 officially released by Verizon on October 28th

Verizon has finally announced BlackBerry Storm2 release for October 28th. I bet there are quite few of you anxiously waiting for new Storm2, with it’s new SurePress technology and OS 5.0.

You will get BlackBerry Storm2 for $179,99 after $100 mail-in rebate with a new two year contract. The rebate will be given in a Verizon debit card.

Personally I find Storm2 a very interesting device although original Storm disappointed me there is no doubt RIM has finally taught from their mistakes. How about you dear readers, what do you think about new Storm2?

Do you ever wanted to print from your BlackBerry directly to your printer? Here is an app which will let you do just that! Its a nice little app and the only caveat is that you need a small PC client running on your Home/Work Laptop/PC. Check it out if its the right app for you.

Google Maps 3.2 released: Login and layers support for maps

Google has finally released Google Maps 3.2 on which we waited so long. Why? Because it finally adds a login support! Other really cool feature is of course added layers for maps. With layers you can overlay Wikipedia entries or transit maps.

BlackBerry Bold 9700 unboxing by AT&T

AT&T is planning to release BlackBerry Bold 9700 in the next few upcoming weeks. They prepared a nice walkthrough video about Bold 9700. It’s a nice review and I strongly recommend you watch it.
